Garvey romp to simple seven point victory over Donaghadee

Lisnagarvey romped home by 65 shots and took all seven points against Donaghadee in NIBA Division One.

Down 0-3 at the third, Noel Graham came back with two threes to lead 12-4 at 11 ends and Garvey added two fives and two fours on the way to a 27 shot win.

Lifting a five and a three, Keith Morrison led 16-4 at the tenth and he added another three to make it 20-8 at 15 ends. Garvey won by 17 shots.

Davy Boal included a five to lead 15-2 at the tenth and 19-11 at 18 ends before winning by 12 shots.

Despite dropping a three Ivan Craig was 10-4 ahead at the ninth and two threes and a four gave him a 20-10 lead at 17 ends before winning by nine shots.

Denis Rankin was the only Lisnagarvey B winner when they lost by three shots away to St Stephen’s in NIBA Division Four.

Rankin had 14 shots to spare in a comfortable win and Bobby Carroll dropped a shot at the last end and that was the winner.

Phil Lavery lost by 11 shots and Bob McGregor went down by five shots in a closely contested match.

Hilden lost by seven shots at home to Ards B and had to settle for two points in Private Greens Senior Two.

Level 9-9 at the ninth and 14-14 at 15 ends Raymond Gourley lost by seven shots.

Despite lifting a three, Colin Montgomery was 7-11 down at the ninth, but he came back with five and four to lead 19-13 at 15 ends before winning by three shots.

Though lifting a four, Maurice Kirkwood was 8-10 down at the tenth and 10-19 at 15 ends. Hilden lifted a five with an end left but lost by seven shots.

Jonathan McMullan lifted a three and a five but it was 13-13 at 11 ends. By 18 ends, Hilden were 20-15 ahead and went on to win by four shots.
