Lisnagarvey kept their winning run going in the NIWBA Senior League with a 31 shots success at home to Banbridge and they netted six points though unfortunate not to collect all seven.

A three helped Iris Scott to an 11-7 lead at 11 ends and after Garvey dropped a double they won the last five ends and added a three at 16 ends to win by 12 shots.

After dropping a four but lifting a three Joyce Lyness was 8-9 down at the tenth. Garvey added a five and were 16-12 ahead at 14 ends. Though finishing with two singles they lost by a shot.

Though lifting a three Kay McCully dropped four and three and was 7-12 down at 12 ends. Garvey lifted two, three, one to lead 13-12 and a four at 17 ends was enough to give them a three shots win.

A four and two threes helped Vera McCourt to a 13-0 lead at the fifth and a five at 12 ends gave her a 21-4 lead. Garvey dropped one, four to make it 21-9 but finished with two, one, three, one to win by 19 shots.

Alton’s win decides it

LISNAGARVEY B 71 (4.5) FINAGHY 68 (2.5)

A 12 shots win for Alton Reid decided Lisnagarvey B would get 4.5 points at home to local rivals, Finaghy, in NIBA Division Four.

But, the winning margin was only three shots and Finaghy will be happy enough after claiming 2.5 points.

Apart from Reid’s win over John Campbell Bobby Carroll and Greg Peacock had a closely fought game and at the finish the spoils were shared. Trevor Flack got home by two shots against Jim Chapman and Randal Megrath had seven shots to spare over Winston Scott.
