Gavin wins Teggart Memorial Cup

A GOOD day was had on Saturday at Islandderry Fishery, Dromore with a good turnout for the annual Teggart Memorial Cup competition in Aid of Cystic Fibrosis.

Anglers fished both lakes with a bait competition on the Hollow Springs lake as well as the Fly competition on the main lake. Gavin Rogan, Drumaness, took first place and the Teggart Memorial Cup with his three fish weight of 8lb.

Second place went to Aiden Finley, Dublin with three fish for 6lb3 while third went to Ronnie McFadden, Lisburn with his three fish weighing in at 6lb.

The bait competition and the Teggart Memorial Bait Cup was won by Gerard Hall, Belfast with his three fish weighing in at 4lb14. Second went to Jim O'Brien Snr, Glenavy with three fish for 4lb7 and third went to Jim Teggart with 3 fish for 4lb6.

A total of 402.10 was raised for Cystic Fibrosis. A big thank you goes out to all who supported the competition and to Laganside Tackle, Dunmurry and anyone who kindly donated of prizes.

The next competition at Islandderry will be on Saturday May 1 on the main lake with a junior competition on Monday May 3 on the Hollow Springs Lake. For more information contact the fishery on 07859 074424
