Despite having several key players missing, Jason Wilmont’s men defeated their opposition 10-1 with goals coming from Paul Lyttle (3). Ricky Dunlop (2), David McVicker, Jamie Hanna, Sam Shaw, William Beckett and Jason McClay.

Despite the comprehensive win manager Jason Wilmont knows there’ss till a lot of work to be done. “I thought we were a wee bit sluggish in the first half but I think that was more to do with the fact we had done a wee bit of training on Thursday. Maybe two nights in a row was too much to ask. We also had a few big players missing like Peter Kennoway and Danny Brown

“It was a good run out but things need to step up now and the opposition will be getting harder and harder. We play Coleraine Crues on Thursday night and then Coleraine on 20th will be a massive step up.

“Things are going better than I ever expected and everyone is up for it, the camp is good at the moment and we have some good youngsters coming through.”

Captain Willie Beckett added: “Friday night’s game against Bushmills proved to be a worthwhile exercise for us as it allowed several players to build on match fitness and it also gave a few of the younger players an opportunity to showcase their potential. I was particularly impressed with Paul Lyttle who is just turning 17 soon, he is a nice lad and is an exciting prospect for the future.”
