WHAT a difference a week makes.

On Saturday the league lost only four games in comparison to the previous week when there was only four games played.

Hopefully the worst of the bad weather is now behind us.

Everyone within the League and the football fraternity in general, extend their best wishes for a speedy recovery to Anthony McCartney the Carniny Amateurs manager who sustained a badly broken leg in their recent Junior Shield game. Anthony’s injury came about after the late withdrawal by the Carniny keeper.

Anthony - who was a top class keeper during a long career - donned the gloves and sustained the injury in a goal-mouth collision.

INTERMEDIATE DIVISION

FC Ballynure 2 v 2 Rasharkin United

After a good start to the game the home side took the lead after Mark Tweedie scored on the 22nd minute a goal which separated the teams at half-time. Rasharkin got back on level terms when John Graham scored on the 62nd minute but Ballynure regained the lead soon after when Ciaran Murphy scored on the 65th minute. Rasharkin equalised for a second time after Ricky Smyth scored on the 78th minute and though there were more chances for both teams they settled for a point each.Referee Mr Brian Leitch

CRAWFORD CUP ROUND 1

Raceview 8 v 0 Ballycastle United

Raceview got off to a blistering start with Philip McBurney scoring on the 4th minute then followed by a hat-trick of goals scored by David Tenant on the 18th, 22nd and 32nd minutes. Philip McBurney added a fifth goal on the 36th minute then second half goals scored by Matt Boyd, David Tenant and Gareth Mott on the 56th, 62nd and 73rd minutes completed the scoring.Referee Mr Gusty Crawford

CRAWFORD CUP ROUND 2

Dunloy 1 v 4 Cookstown Olympic

Dunloy never really got into this game after dean Stewart shot the Olympic into the lead on the 4th minute though it was not until the 52nd minute that Gary Maguire scored a second goal for the Olympic. Two more goals for the Olympic scored by Ryan O’Neil and Gary Maguire on the 60th and 82nd minutes saw the game safe but the last goal in the game went to Dunloy scored by Benny McGarry on the 85th minute.Referee Mr John McKnight

Both teams had a chance to score in the game before Jonny Graham scored for the Corner on the 25th minute. Glebe then went for the equaliser but had to wait until Gareth Henry converted a penalty on the 55th minute. The game was then delicately poised with the winning goal being scored for the Corner by Henry Nutter from the penalty spot on the 70th minute.Referee Mr Samuel Forsythe

Newtownabbey 7’s 1 v 3 Ballymoney United Res

With manager James Gilchrist in goals Ballymoney started off well and took the lead on the 13th minute when Liam Kearney scored. The home side soon got back on level terms with Dave Ramsey scoring on the 16th minute. As half-time was then approaching Steven O’Neil scored on the 40th minute putting Ballymoney back in front and this goal separated the teams until Neil Fleming scored number three for Ballymoney on the 85th minute.Referee Mr Tom Stewart
