The White Eagles keeper was busy as expected and he produced a good save from Josh Elliot and Adam McVicker on a number of occasions. With the half drawing to a close the White Eagles beat the offside trap and their forward finished brilliantly leaving stand in keeper Ryan Gurney with no chance to make it 1-0 at half time.

Glebe started the second half creating attack after attack and with 75 minutes gone, Glebe finally broke the home defence as Paul Lyttle combined well with Adam McVicker produced a fantastic cross from the right which was turned goalwards by a White Eagles defender to make it 1-1. As the game entered into the last ten minutes substitute Neill McVicker’s influence grew as he turned provider on at least two occasions with Josh Elliott and Lee Magill going close. A great piece of play by Skipper Lee Magill set David Mcvicker up who expertly finished from the edge of the box to make it 2-1.

Manager Ryan Gurney commented: “I think the players handled themselves well especially as the White Eagles were more concerned with kicking lumps out of our young lads than trying to play any football. However, it’s testiment to our young side that they felt the need to park the bus and they only had one shot on target which they scored from. On another day we would have scored more goals.” Glebe Reserves are at home to Ballycastle on Saturday.
