Glebe set sights on season ahead

GLEBE Rangers pre-season training regime is firmly under way as the club sets about getting the squad into tip-top shape ahead of the new season.

One of the unfamiliar faces among the squad on Thursday was Davy Patton who is considering a move to Glebe.

Boss Gareth Scott said Patton is a player he’d welcome with open arms to the club.

“He is certainly a player we are very, very interested in,” he said.

“He has experience and has ability and would be a big, big asset to the club.

“There is a big, big family vibe about the club and he would be a huge asset to the family but the decision will lie with Davy.”

Glebe begin the season with a home clash against Ballinamallard United.

“I think it is a good start, it’s good to have a home match to get going with,” said Scott.

“The thing about this league is there is absolutely no dead wood.”

Scott said that while Glebe may be down the table in terms of finances, expectations and history, they were right at the top of the charts when it comes to desire.

“When it comes to the Glebe we are the biggest club in terms of desire to improve and succeed.”
