Glebe unfortunate to lose against Loughgall

Glebe suffered an early setback, the visitors taking the lead in the opening minutes of the game.

But the hosts hit back through a screaming effort from Trevor Parkhill who came off the bench to equalise with a rocket into the top corner.

Tackles were flying in throughout what was a feisty encounter, but it was Loughgall who had the final say, breaking Glebe hearts deep into the second half to leave the Riada Stadium with all three points.

"I'm not usually one to make excuses and say we were in unlucky but we were on this occasion," Scott told Times Sport.

"Everyone of them did the club, their shirt and their families proud.

"I thought we were excellent.

"We matched, indeed at times outplayed, and certainly out-battled the number one team in Intermediate football.

"If we can eradicate the errors we are going to be piling up a lot of points in this league this year."

Scott commended the Glebe faithful for the "confidence and enthusiasm" throughout the camp at the minute and paid tribute to the hard work being done by all those connected to the club.

"I think we're in good shape and the results will come if we continue to apply ourselves as we have been," he said.

"We will continue to persevere on this path until either we get the points we need, or it kills us.

"If we keep it going it is only a matter of time before they do come."

Saturday's game was action-packed with tough tackling and a number of crude challenges flying in.

"It was quite a heated game to say the least," said Scott.

"The Loughgall players felt the need to celebrate in front of our bench at the end.

"I think I'm the most talked about man in Loughgall at the minute behind the two who founded Manumission and that's where the similarities end."

Next up for Glebe is a trip to Institute on Saturday.

A bus to the game leaves the Manor Hotel at noon.
