Go-karting ace Gary reaches world final

A MAGHERAFELT schoolboy has qualified for the World Go kart final in Portgual in December.

Fourteen-year-old Gary Donnelly, from Ardboe, qualified by securing the Motor Sport Ireland Championship with recent wins in Cork and Galway.

The St Pius College pupil has been setting local circuits ‘on fire’ during his three years in karting.

Back in August, he won the Irish Kart Grand Prix Championship in great style, adding it to his other titles in the 12-16 years category.

Dad Des says his son has a great passion for motor sport and hopes to progress to racing cars.
