Audrey braves weather to claim win
Only 20 ladies were brave enough to tackle the extremely blustery weather conditions at Larne Golf Club on Friday (April 26) to compete in the Phillips Datsun Stroke Competition.
The course was extremely difficult and this was reflected in the scoring. Course Standard Scratch for the day was 77 and the proud winner was Audrey Faulkner (82), with Margaret Gray finishing as runner-up (83). The only ‘two’ of the day was scored by Gail McNabb.
Lady Captain Lynne Armstrong thanked all the ladies for turning out and hoped for pleasant weather this Friday (May 3) when members will compete in an 18-hole Stableford and PGA Qualifier. Ladies wishing to play should register their names on the draw sheet before 7pm this evening (Thursday, May 2).
