Bell and Marr Division winners

In Division One at Gracehill on Saturday Philip Bell playing off eleven blitzed the field with an amazing 39 points over 16 holes.

After a capricious front eight which produced 18 points, Philip then produced a dynamic back eight by fashioning 21points, five under his handicap. Alex Steele, also playing off eleven, was second with 36 points. Alex produced some extremely steady golf throughout the round, the highlight of which was a birdie two at the eleventh. Kevin Higgins (13) was third with 33 points.

In Division Two Ian Marr playing off 21 was triumphant with 35 points. After a mediocre front eight, Ian turned on the style for the final eight holes, coming home with 20 points. Lee Munnis playing off eighteen was second with 31 points. Third place went to Peter Whittaker (16) with 29 points. Robert McNeill won the gross prize with a level par round.

Congratulations to Lee Munnis another winner of the winter grand slam after scoring 38 points over 16 holes on Sunday. Lee was three under his card for each series of eight holes. His aphorism for the day was obviously consistency. After being runner-up the day before and winning a ham, Lee went one better and now Christmas dinner is all organised. With brother Johnny already the winner of two hams and a turkey and their father Brian still to register a win, he’ll be hoping for a invitation come the 25th - may be that is all part of his cunning plan!

Herbie McCook playing off ten was second with 37 points. Again consistency was apparent in his round, as he was only two over for the front eight and two over for the back eight. Stephen Gage (19) was third with 35 points. Robert McNeill picked up the gross prize again with a sensational round of one under par.
