Big turn out for ladycaptain

Three was a great turn out from the members and also a good representation from local clubs all took part on Saturday and the day was finished off with dinner and presentation at The White Horse Hotel.

Coming in first was young Loren Smallwoods (14) with 36 points playing, second spot was 30 handicapper Ann McGoldrick with 33 points and in third spot was Celine McIvor (36) with 28 points.

The winning lady captain was Ann McGurk from Redcastle with 14 points over 10 holes, and the winner of the visitors prize was Anne Marie Dean of Roe Park with 19 points.

The front nine was won by Cathrine O’Neill with 14 points and the back nine went to Kathleen Cooke with 16 points and the winner of the longest drive was Loren Smallwoods,

In the men’s category the winner was nine handicapper Graham Curry with 41 points, in second sport was Paul Duffy (6) with 39 points and in third spot was Martin Mailey with 37 points playing off a handicap of 17, while the gross prize went to Kevin Hunter with 79 gross.

Meanwhile Foyle ladies captain Denise Callan, hosted the club’s charity open last Friday in aid of her chosen charity, Foyle Search and Rescue.

Foyle’s Margaret Killen, took the top honours returning a fine score of 39 points, one shot clear of runner-up, Barbara McArthur from Roe Park.

The gross was won by Lorna Thompson with 19 gross points and Elizabeth McMullan from Faughan Valley won the visitors prize with 36 points. The men’s prize went to Emmett Hutton (12) who finished with 42 points.
