Birdies help McKnight clinch Weekly Thursday Open

Connor McKnight (13) scored a massive 46 points to win the Weekly Thursday Open at City of Derry by a convincing seven shot margin.

Birdies at the 2nd and back to back birdies on 11 and 12 gave him 12 points on those holes and an unbeatable overall score.

Des Elliot (17) playing out of Ballyliffin was the runner up and best visitor of the day with his 39 points. Michael Houston (12) needed a favourable break of tie to finish in third place with 38 points.

Leading low man was Lester Moore (1) who despite blanking the first and sixteenth holes still had 33 gross points to take that particular prize.
