Golfer of the Year is starting to look like it did last year with Kieran Berryman relentless in his pursuit of a record fourth title as he hits form just at the right time.

He currently sits at the top with 64 points with 15 points separating him and nearest challenger Andy Young who sits in second with 49 points. Andy will of course be giving it his all as he only missed out by a few points last year.

It’s certainly shaping up to be another exciting title race for sure.

Bryan Donaghy lies in third place with 45 points and if he carries on his recent good form could also feature highly at the end of the season.

The North West league got underway last week with Roe Park’s team travelling to Buncrana to play their first round away match. Unfortunately it proved a little too tough with the team eventually losing six matches to one. They will be hoping for better fortune this week as they host Buncrana at home in the return match

Saturday will see the biggest and busiest day of the golfing year at Roe Park as Frank Boyd hosts his Captains’ Day.

Members can look forward to a fun day indeed with some amazing prizes and of course the obligatory beer tent at the tenth hole.
