Bradley wins after close

WITH glorious conditions on Saturday Terance Bradley (24) and Hugh Duffy (22) both returned great scores of 42 points at Faughan Valley.

Bradley took first place with the better back nine with 24 points; Hugh had 23 points on his back nine. Darren Kelly was third after he scored 40 points.

On Sunday in near perfect conditions for golf Thomas Stevenson (23) with 41 points claimed the Open stableford competition, Alan Chung (20) with 40 points was second and Brian Gallagher (19) with 39 points was third.

The President Don O'Doherty has set up a Novel club quiz which will run from April to September; all quizzes will be golf orientated and members can pick up the sheets from the shop.

April's quiz was the rules of golf with a good response. Six members answered the 18 questions correctly, the six names went into a hat with Raymond Kennedy's name drawn out as the winner. All prizes will be sponsored by club members. April's quiz was kindly sponsored by the club captain Trevor Lewers.

This Saturday and Sunday will be open stableford competition and members should check the notice board this week for a new date for the Captain's Drive-in, which was postponed this week because of the GUI competitions.

Members and visitors note that a time sheet is in operation for the Pink Day Captain's charity in aid of Breast Cancer Awareness - Open Stableford competition on Monday, May 31.
