Burns produces a master class

JIM BURNS took top honours at Redcastle Golf Club with a superb score of 43 points showing everyone at the club a master class in golf.

Big hitter John Murrey was in second place following a break of tie finish with 41 points and Paddy McSheffery who also scored 41 points was third.

The front nine went to Eamon Haughey after he scored 22 points, while the back nine was claimed after a BOT finish by Damien Tracey who scored 22 points.

The gross winner was Vincent Glenn after another BOT finish when he scored 27 points.

Meanwhile well done to the Ulster Cup team who won a valuable three matches at Temple Golf Club away from home, the return leg takes place this Saturday at 2pm in Redcastle.

This week's competition is the National Nines played from Friday, April 30 to Sunday, May 2. While the captain and members would like to send their sympathy to Dessie Carton and his family on their recent bereavement.
