Captain makes presentation to local Stepping Stones charity

Stepping Stones was his nominated charity for his year in office.

The charity provides young adults with learning difficulties or disabilities with an opportunity to gain accredited training and skills towards future employment.

Glenn presented a cheque for £500 to the trainees; including Oliver Magee, Conor Magee, Charmaine Gill and Tracey Gorman.

The Seymour Street Coffee Shop is one of two coffee shops in Lisburn the other being the Avenue in Wallace Avenue and they also offer a picture framing/card making service in Seymour Street.

Week five of the 2013/2014 Andrew Annett Winter League competition was played in benign conditions.

Tony Wilson (15) had the best score (30 points). Five players then scored 29 points and were placed on count back. John Cahoon (10) was second, Gents Captain Glenn Willis (11) was third, Stephen Watson (17) was fourth and fifth place went to Keith Cranston (05).

Fifth place went to Stephen Clarke scoring 26 points. (18). Jon D’arcy (05) had the best gross on the day a level par score of 48.

All will receive Paul Banford & Sons Butchers, Turkey Vouchers.

Groups

The 28 competing teams have been divided into four groups with the top two teams qualifying for the match play rounds in March next year.

Currently Group A is led by “There’s The Sleet I’m Away In” with 87 points and “Widow Twanky Goes to Malahide” are second with 84 points. Group B is led by “Strong Force” with 87 points and “Paddy one Putt” second with 85 points. Group C is led by “Talk a Good Game” with 84 points and “The Quickslips” are second with 83 points. The final group, group D are led by “The Drawshank Redemption” with 84 points and “The Sultans of Swing” are second with 82 points.
