Carley wins Royal Oak Trophy

Aaron Carley carded 42 points to win the Royal Oak Trophy at Carrickfergus Golf Club on Saturday.

The low handicap winners at the competition were Glen Williams (38 points), Dessie Johnston (37 points), John Moore (34 points), and Geoff Wallace (34 points).

High handicap winners were Ken Heron (37 points), Glen Gibney (36 points), J. Bond (35 points) and Paul Gibney (35 points).

Andrew Dillon won the Gross Prize with 34 points and David Clarke took the Super Senior Prize with 32 points.

In the Ulster Cup, Carrickfergus saw off Mourne Golf Club, but the Pierce Purcell team failed to qualify for the matchplay stages.

In midweek members of the Ladies’ Section played for the Golden Jubilee Trophy and Angeline McWilliams claimed top spot.
