Carrick GC looking ahead to summer season

The summer golf season is almost here and members of Carrickfergus GC will soon be able to enjoy an improved course layout.

Three new, re-designed and enhanced greens are being contructed and the club hope they will be ready in May.

The lounge area at the clubhouse has been extensively upgraded and members and their guests will be able to enjoy the bar and catering facilities in even greater comfort.

A full list of top-class competitions has been scheduled and Carrick will again be participating in inter-club tournaments, hoping to build on last year’s Holt Shield success.

Isaac Jarduine and Bill Gibson have secured sposnsorship for open competitions during Open Week, which is scheduled to run from July 26 to August 2. It will have events for all, and a prize fund of £5,000.

Two men’s Open Stroke competitions have been arranged for June 14 and Saturday August 30, each with £600 in prizes. Two ladies’ competitions (June 10 and August 26) have already been organised as well as a men’s Senior event on August 13.
