Charlie is tops in Rockmount’s final competition before the winter

The last competition before the Gents Winter League competition begins was a keenly contested competition at Rockmount Golf Club last weekend.

On Saturday 19th October three players scored 42 points. First place went to Charlie Lally (14), beating second placed Jimmy Robinson (07) on count-back. Jimmy completed the par 72 course in a one over par 73; he had two birdies (in the first three holes), three bogeys and thirteen powers in his round.

Charlie scored twenty two points on the front nine and twenty points on the back nine. The low section (0 -11) was won by Stephen Ferguson (10) with 39 points, the mid-section (12 – 17) was won by Martin Mearns (13) the third player who scored 42 points and the high section (18 – 28) was won by Niall Marshall (20) who had 40 points.

The best gross prize on the day went to Colin Henderson (05) who had a three over par gross score of 75. Colin carded two birdies, twelve pars, two bogeys and a double bogey during his round.

Next Saturday 26th October is the first week of the 2013-2014 Winter League; competitions will be played over twelve holes.
