Chris at ‘Holmes’ with the cup

Chris Millen scored 42 points at Bushfoot on Saturday and got his mitts on the Holmes Cup for his efforts.

The fifteen handicapper blanked the first but recovered well to get to nine with 18 points logged. This was helped by his birdie three at the third. Twelve gave him his second and final birdie but he dropped just three shots on the back nine meaning he had scored a great 24 points for the nine.

Very useful in a tie break but Chris ended up two points clear of Des Morrison on 40. Des won 21 points for his five over par front nine, he plays off seventeen, and added another 19 from his back nine. The resulting 40 was one ahead of Derek McFaull on 39. Derek’s opening nine score of 17 had a birdie three at eight in it but also included a number of bogies.

His back nine had a mix of the same but he added in a birdie three at twelve and an eagle two at the seventh to boost his back nine to 22 and seal his third spot with 39 points.
