After getting off to the worst possible start with a bogey, double bogey and another bogey at the first three holes, Chris put together an amazing run of five pars in a row to reach the turn with 22 points.

A mixed bag in the back nine which included 4 pars earned him a further 21 pts to take the trophy outright with 43 points. One point behind with 42points was past President Brian Bates (19).

Brian also got off to a terrible start with double bogeys at 2 and 3 but three pars and a brilliant 2 at the par three 8th brought him back into contention.

Another birdie 2 at the 12th and a further three pars in the back nine put him in a strong position for the win but a double bogey at the last pushed him into the runner-up spot.

Craig Tiffen (7) finished in the top three once again with another outstanding game of golf with 41 points.

Craig’s start was completely different than the other two with pars on the first three holes.

After a couple of blips at 4 and 5 he put together an amazing run with three consecutive birdies followed by a par at the ninth.

His back nine included a further 5 pars and another birdie at the 17th. A. Crockard won Best Gross.

Ivor Harron (6) won the final Wednesday Hat of the season with 37 points.

It was no surprise when Craig Tiffen won the “Player of the Year” for 2015. Craig has been very consistent all season and has been in the top three regularly in a lot of competitions.

Prize giving was held later that afternoon and after a short speech a cheque for £1000.00 pounds was presented to Sarah from Friends of the Cancer Centre, the Club Captain Stephen Boyd’s nominated charity. The money was raised by club members at the Dougie Parker Memorial Trophy competition which was held recently.

Hunter Ventilation are the sponsors of next week’s competition which was put off earlier last month because of the bad weather.
