CLIC Sargent names NI Open official charity

The European Challenge Tour tournament tees of at Galgorm Castle Golf Club on Thursday 29 August and will finish on Sunday 1 September. Hosted by Russian Open champion and multiple European Tour winner Michael Hoey, the tournament will feature some of Europe’s top golfing talent including local players Simon Shaw and Alan Dunbar as well as Ryder Cup team member, Oliver Wilson.

As one of the most high profile events of the summer the NI Open offers CLIC Sargent the ideal platform to raise awareness for its NI Homes from Home Appeal. The Appeal aims to build two specialist houses close to the Royal Belfast Hospital for Sick Children and the Belfast City Hospital, that can be used by families of children and young people that are undergoing a cancer treatment.

In Northern Ireland a family dealing with childhood cancer can face an average round trip of 95 miles, several times per week in order to receive a cancer treatment and spend an additional £360 per month. Costs will include travel, fuel, meals and accommodation. The CLIC Sargent ‘Homes from Home’ Appeal aims to reduce these costs.
