Club rocked by passing of Bertie

There was an air of sadness around Banbridge Golf Club last weekend.

Everyone was shocked when the news filtered through that Bertie Shaw had died.

Bertie was Captain of Banbridge Golf Club in 1992 and he was President from 2009 until 2011.

Bertie was a gentleman of great integrity and his advice on all matters pertaining to the running of the club was highly valued.

His playing partners, Gerry Blevins, John and Brian Parkes, will sorely miss him.

And so will all the other members because Bertie was just a lovely man.

The captain, council and members would like to express their sympathy to Bertie’s wife and family.
