Competitions in full swing

WITH the summer season competitions now in full swing, over 200 golfers took part in Saturday’s Martin Collins Charity Cup at Carrickfergus Golf Club.

The winner was Maurice Finlay with 38 points. Low handicap winners were Gary Greenfield (38 points), Tom Black (38 points), Leslie Lyle (37 points), and Warren Wright (36 points). High handicap winners were Stephen Wady (38 points), Noel Morrison (36 points), David Adams (35 points), and Jim Beck (35 points). Andrew Dillon took the Gross Prize with 34 points and Joe Stockman won the Super Seniors with 36 points.

An excellent Open Programme has also been finalised. There are two ladies’ competitions planned for May 28 and July 2, an Open Seniors on August 14 and Open Week runs from July 20 to 27. Open Week boasts a massive £5,000-plus prize fund with no increase in this year’s competition fees.
