David has the Keys to success in stableford event at Galgorm Castle

At halfway there were three players vying for the lead – Joshua Hill (12), David Stirling (9) and David A.McAleese (8).

In close attendance one point behind came David Keys (10) and George Watt (10). Through thirteen Stirling was leading by one point from Hill and McAleese with Keys and Watt a further point behind. Up the Grove and approaching two from home Stirling was still ahead by one point from Keys, Hill and McAleese with Watt another point down.

Stirling finished bogey, par and was joined by Keys (two pars) and Hill (two pars) and with a better back nine D.Keys was the Overall Winner. Hill with a better back six was the Overall Runner-up. Stirling won Division 1 by one point from D.A.McAleese (bogey, par) with G.Watt (bogey, par) taking third place.

In Division 2 after the front nine Gary Hood (14) and Terence Martin (15) were one and two points respectively ahead of Gary Crabbe (13) and Andrew McLarnon (15). Hood moved into a one point lead after a par through the Maple from Martin.

Crabbe set out his intentions with three pars which saw him emerge as the new leader with two holes left to play.

Crabbe continued his run of pars and finished with two more to win by two points from Hood (bogey, par), Martin (double bogey, par) and McLarnon (bogey, par) who finished together. Second place went to McLarnon with a better back nine with G.Hood in third place with a better back six.

At the turn in Division 3 Brian Mahany (16) and Ian Stewart (20) were a point ahead of Michael Burton (19) who was another point in front of Philip Magill (19).

Through The Maple Burton emerged as the new leader by a point from Stewart with Mahany and Magill another point behind. Burton lost the lead after a ‘ding’ at the Grove with Mahant leading by one point from Stewart and Magill.

A double bogey, par finish by Mahany saw him home to win by one point from Stewart (two bogeys) followed by Magill (bogey, double bogey) and Burton (par, bogey. Magill with a better back nine took third place.

Turning for home in Division 4 Ashley Doole (22) held a comfortable five point advantage over Samuel MacDonald (22) and George Irwin (28). James McKay (27) was another point away followed by Cyril Reid (28), William McKigney (22) and Ashley Graham (28) a further point behind.

Up the Grove McKay was the new leader after a run of three pars by one point from Doole ( ‘ding’ on fourteen). McKay came home bogey, ‘ding’ and was joined by Doole (two bogeys) and with a better back nine first place went to McKay with Doole in second place.

Twos were recorded by – Jordan Millar, D.Reilly (x2), S.Black, S.McCavera, S.McCormick (x2), V.Miskelly, J.Rainey, C.Steele, J.Hood, M.Bellew, S.Penney, J.Hill x2), L.Craig, John McClintock, I.Stewart and James McClintock.
