All section winners had 22 points and section one went to Dee Farrell, her second win of the week, having won the ladies Seniors Open on Monday.

Dee’s golf was clearly no trick but an out and out treat to watch for her playing partners. The other ladies who played well enough to earn their treat, of a winning score, were section two winner Pat Hughes and section three winner Lily Woods. In addition to the three winning scores there were a lot of ladies who recorded sub par scores so they are all enjoying the mild autumn and the shortened course.

The novice competition is encouraging some stiff competition between the new ladies and their scores indicate that they are steadily improving and we can look forward to them joining us in the full competitions next year. The winner this week with a very credible 16 points was Helen Stewart.

On the team front Dubuisson’s Darlins’, ably captained by Sheena McStay, continue to show a clean pair of heels to the rest of the field. They won the team competition this week, to add to their tally of points, greatly helped by their two highest scorers Sheena (23) and Pat Hughes (22).

Second in the teams was team McDowell captained by May Baxter with great scores from May (21), Anette Kilbinger (19), Geraldine Hickland (19), and Roisin Anderson (21). While Sheena’s team have sneaked ahead there is still everything to play for as in golf, as we all know, there good run could tail off at any time and there’s plenty of time for the other teams to catch them.

Bridge results are as follows:

N/S-1, T Rae and C Byrne; 2, Kill Hill and N McAuley; 3, G Turkington and E O’Neill.

E/W-1, D Stevenson and R Davidson; 2, A White and U Crossey; 3, S O’Neill and M Patterson.
