Deighans at the double
Paul and Gary Deighan kept it in the family as the father and son duo registered a one point victory for the Jubilee Cup at Bushfoot GC.
With less than a handful of shots dropped to par the duo birdied the ninth to have a points tally of 22 logged. The team kept up the good steady golf on the back nine covering it in three over par to grab a further 23 points and stayed one point up on Matt Colgan and Trevor Thompson on 44.
Three over for each nine gave the runners up 21 out and 23 back to miss out by one. Third spot was occupied by another family pairing, Brian and Des Walker, a point back on 43. A birdie two on the way out, the fifth, and another birdie, a three at seventeen, helped them to nines of 20 and 23 for their placing.
