Disappointing weekend for Roe Park ‘s Irish mixed foursomes

The Roe Park Irish mixed foursomes team travelled to Bushfoot GC on Sunday but unfortunately failed to qualify for the knockout rounds.

The Pierce Purcell team will hope to do better this week as they travel to Ballymena GC to face Castlerock in their first round match. Also hopeful of progressing beyond the first round are the Jimmy Bruen team as they face Ballycastle at Gracehill GC.

Golfer of the year is well underway with Andy Young sitting on top of the table with 30 points.

Ricky Cochrane and Liam Berryman are leading the chase on 20 points and expect to see defending champion Kieran Berryman shoot up the table shortly as he recaptures the form which saw him lift the title in the previous two years.

Up next is a Bank Holiday Open Stableford on Monday with some great prizes provided by sponsors Drenagh Sawmills.
