Double joy for Brolly

IN form Clive Brolly (13) is the man to beat at Prehen at the moment having secured his second win in as many outings by adding victory in the weekly Turkey and Spirits stableford to his Sunday Society success last week.

Played over 13 holes he had 36 points and a three point winning margin over second placed Eddie Mitchell (15), his 33 points being recorded despite a blank at the long ‘Whins’ hole. Peter Leeson (18) was best of a trio on 31 points and will be delighted with his prize after a long break from the game.

Sunday’s competition was won after a break of tie finish by Wyn Donnell (11) after he finished with 33 points, Kevin Green (19) also scored 33 points to claim second spot and Brian Abel (24) with 32 points was third.

While played over 16 holes with high scoring the order of the day it was the evergreen Noel Kehoe (17) who came out on top, in the Thursday Society competition, at Prehen, his 39 points, with 17 of them coming on the last six holes proving decisive in ousting Robin McClay (17) into second spot courtesy of a tie break.

Thursday Society secretary Eamonn McCourt (11) once again featured in the prizes, he also had 39 points but lost out on the last nine to Robin.
