Downey wins after break of tie finish at Faughan Valley Golf Club

On Saturday at Faughan Valley held an open Stableford competition in near perfect conditions.

The first three positions being decided on a break of tie finish with all three carding 39 points.

In first spot was 14 handicapper Eamon Downey, in second place was 13 handicapper Billy Hutchman and 15 handicapper Clifford Caldwell was third.

There was four winners in the sweep with Neal Black, Eoghan Brolly, Tony Griffiths and Shane McGahon.

Sunday’s two man scramble was cancelled due to the adverse weather conditions.

This Saturday the club are hosting the Keith Cameron Trophy sponsored by Northwest Auto Services.

On Sunday, the Monthly Medal Strokeplay Competition takes centre stage, while also running all week is the Irons Competition.
