Downey wins at Faughan Valley GC

The weekend open stableford competition at Faughan Valley, which was kindly sponsored by Premier Travel, was claimed by Nigel Downey (19) who scored 43 points.

Second was was Graham Curry (10) after he scored 40 points, third spot was decided on a break of tie finish between Gary Devine (23) Tony Griffiths (20) and James Dalzell (18), all three carding 38 points, with Devine taking the prize with the better back nine.

The front nine was won by Terrance Bradley with 22 points and Dan Hinds fron City of Derry took the back nine.

After four weeks of The White Horse Hotel sponsored Spring Lleague, the leader board is as follows, Alister Campbell 161 points, Damien Boyle 157 points, Thomas Parkhill 150 points and there are three competitiors with 149 points Martin Lynch, Martin Carlin and Alan Campbell.

This Saturday the club are hosting a two man scramble for team members of the Jimmy Bruen, Pierce Purcell and the Ulster Four Ball to use for practice so gentlemen please use them, and there will also be an open stableford competition down for decision.

Meanwhile at City of Derry Mr Martin McNulty, Thursday Society Skipper congratulating the winner of his prize M Billy Acheson, who compiled a fantastic 44 points on the day.
