Dream team pick up the spoils at Silverwood

The winter league drew to a close at Silverwood Golf Club this week with the dream team of Kieran Murray, Sean McStay Michael Devlin and Michael Haughian picking up the team prize ahead of the Club Throwers.

It was a double celebration for Michael Haughian as he also picked the individual prize finishing one point ahead of Colin Quinn. This was a steady eight weeks of golf played by this team and with Michael Haughian playing his best golf of the year it was no surprise that they came out on top in this competition.

The winners of the last turkey and hams of the year were, low section first prize went to Shane Mulholland with 44 points. Shane had 22 points on the front nine and another 22 points on his back nine. In second place was Declan McGeown with 43 points. He had 21 points on his front nine and 22 points on his back nine. Third place went to Michael Haughian with 42 points. He had 21 points on his front nine and 21 points on his back nine to pick up a couple of bottles of wine to celebrate his overall success.

In the middle section first place went to Bill Geoghegan with the best points total of the day with 46 points. Bill had 25 points on the front nine and 21 points on the back nine. In second place was Gary Murphy with 45 points. Gary had 22 points on the front nine and 23 points on the back nine. In third place was Dominic Marsden with 43 points, he had 18 points on his front nine and 25 points on his back nine.

In the high section first place went to James Nicholl with 43 points. James had 23 points on the front nine and 20 points on the back nine. In second place was Albert Porter with 43 points. He had 23 points on the front nine and 20 points on the back nine. In third place was Eamon Nelson with 41 points, he had 21 points on the front nine and 20 points on the back nine.

The gross prize was won by John Marley with an excellent two under gross which equalled 38 gross points.

The senior prize was won by Eamon McCusker with 41 points.
