This superb drainage has greatly assisted in establishing Down Royal as one of the driest Golf facilities in Ireland which is playable all year round.

Down Royal has recently completed over 1,000 meters of new main drainage on the 18 Hole Classic Course and the 9 Hole Valley Course, further assisting the existing superb drainage, reinforcing and fortifying the Golf Courses against flooding and partial/full closure for many years to come. The superb sand soil mix removed during the drainage work will be used to develop new and extend and improve existing tee boxes this winter.
