Duncan keeps up good form at Prehen

At City of Derry Neil Duncan (14) continued is recent run of good form by claiming top spot in the Sunday Society with a well compiled 39 points beating Fred Young (9) and Liam McCafferty (21) into second and third place respectively.

John Flynn, Martin Doherty (2) and Shane Kelly filled the minor places. While in the Golfer of the Year Standings Clive Brolly still leads the way on 152 points, second is Graham Hepburn and Brian McClelland was third.

Mr Peter Deans Captains Day takes place this Sunday, presentation at 6.30pm and all prize winners are asked to attend.

Jim McCann took the honour in winning the first major trophy of the golfing season with two points to spare in The Subscribers Cup at Prehen.

Runner up was Robert Simpson with Past Captain Michael McCullough losing out to third spot on a break of tie. The gross prize was won by one handicapper Aaron Taylor with 38 points.

Meanwhile the Foyle Sunday members turned out in force at the weekend for the last counting competition in the keenly contested Golfer of the Year.

The fine playing conditions on a course in pristine condition everything was in place for good scoring and Kevin McDermott (9) obliged with an excellent two over par round for his 43 point winning total, Kieran Bradley (9) also produced a fine round of three over par for a 42 point return and second place, with Raymond Tracey finishing third on consecutive weeks with 39 points.

Club membership, which includes GUI fees, is now due and should be paid by April 1 to enable members to maintain their Congu handicap and play for prizes in competitions. Optional insurance is also due on the same date.
