Fionnuala is crowned ‘Golfer of the Year’

Forty ladies from Dunmurry Golf Club were present to congratulate and celebrate with the many winners at the annual prize giving on Friday evening October 10.

In her welcome address the Lady Captain thanked the generosity of the members who had donated the prizes to be added to the silver cups and trophies.

She also thanked the Committee and the Handicap Committee for all their hard work in record keeping, the green staff who kept the course in excellent condition, the restaurant staff for the delicious buffet and the office staff for all their help.

The prizes were presented after the buffet meal. One name was very prominent as a winner over the season. Fionnuala McGrady, who plays off 7, won seven prizes and trophies including the Birdie prize with 36 birdies and one Eagle during the year and was a worthy winner of ‘Golfer of the year’.

Lady Captain made the final presentation to the winner of the annual match between the Lady Captain’s team and the Honorary Secretary’s team and the Hon. Secretary’s team, captained by Jean White, in the absence of Margaret Mark, won this fun competition.

It was a very enjoyable day.
