Five pairings left in the running

The highlight of the day will be the final of the President’s Prize. This is the fourball matchplay championship. It started back in May with 64 pairs and we are now down to the last five.

Three of the quarter-finals have been played.

Kevin McKay and Brian Grimes beat Shane Rooney and Tommy Gillespie 3 and 1.

Kevin Smyth and Neil Clydesdale beat Verdun Bond and Seamus McGrath 7 and 6.

Callum and Robert Barnes beat Stephen Orr and Darren Barker 1 up.

Jim Matthews and Ronnie Halliday have still to play Ken Stevenson and Paul Wylie.
