Although they were ultimately knocked-out by Banbridge, Frank’s perfect shot pushed the opponents all the way and ensured Rockmount went out in a blaze of glory.

After the home leg had been drawn 2-2, Frank could scarcely have picked a better time to fire in an ace.

Frank, along with his partner Danny Montgomery, neeeded to win their match to force the tie into a play-off.

One down going into the par three 18th, things didn’t look good. That was until Frank stepped up and launched his shot straight into the cup.

That sent the match into a play-off. On the 19th they managed to get a half and so it was onwards to the 20th hole. Danny sank a 30 feet putt for a par only to be out-done by his opponent who sank a 20 feet put for a birdie to secure the win and knock Rockmount out.

Nonetheless, it was a sterling team effort by the Rockmount team.
