Galbraith, the current Irish Amateur Close champion, was given the nod for the prestigious tournament alongside East of Ireland winner Colm Campbell (Warrenpoint), Cormac Sharvin (Ardglass) and Ballymena’s Dermot McElroy.

The competition tees off at Galgorm Castle Golf Club on August 28.

In 2011, Galbraith won Ulster Boys’ title and made it to the quarter-finals of the British Boys’ Championship the same year.

Meanwhile, over 130 prizes were played for at Carrickfergus Golf Club’s Open Week.

The prize money exceeded £5,000 and some 1,500 competitors, including golfers from Blackpool, Isle of Man and 20 clubs across Northern Ireland took to the fairways.

The club is grateful for the generosity of the various sponsors who once again made the event so successful.
