Getting into the swing for High School’s 50th anniversary
On Monday 29 August Ballymoney High School organised a golf competition at Gracehill golf club. The field was open to teaching staff and pupils both past and present.
This competition was the first of Ballymoney High School’s special events to mark the school’s 50th anniversary.
Despite poor weather in the morning of the event an enjoyable day’s golf was had by most who took part.
Richard Dickson of RD Engraving sponsored a beautiful trophy and there was also £50 for the winner.
In third place, with 33 points, was Eugene Laverty, a former supply teacher in the school.
In second place, with 35 points, was William McQuistan, an ex pupil.
The winner, Brian Munnis, was also an ex pupil.
Brian had 39 points.
Well done to the competitors who braved the weather and indeed the prize winners who succeeded on the day. Thanks also to Gracehill golf club for allowing the use of their excellent course for the competition.
Other special events to commemorate the 50th anniversary include an Anniversary Ball on 16th September, a rugby/hockey/ football bonanza and BBQ, a table quiz, a fashion show a concert and a summer community fair.
So keep a look out on the Ballymoney High school website.
