With the full 18 holes open the competitions were only played over 13 holes for the week allowing the greenkeepers valuable time to make the most of the better weather.

David Betts was first out on Thursday morning and posted an excellent score of 30 points. It proved to be the winning score as Danny Quinn could only manage 28 points to claim second place.

Saturday saw more familiar faces return from a long winter lay-off keen to blow off the cobwebs and get back to playing club golf once again.

Senior member Willie McCormick showed that age is just a number as he played a canny game, scoring a superb 30 points to take the victory. His round included 4 pars, 6 bogeys, 3 double bogeys and most importantly zero dings.

It was a close affair for sure as Barry Toland and Jamie Vinnicombe also shot 30 points, with all three separated using the count back rule. Indeed it was Barry Toland who eventually took second place, leaving Jamie to claim third.

Jamie will rue a loose shot on the last which cost him dear as he scratched the hole needing only a point for the victory, unbeknown to him.

Sunday saw 2012, 2013 and 2014 Golfer of the Year, Kieran Berryman pick up where he left off last season, winning with a superb score of 29 points.

His one under par round included 3 birdies, 8 pars and 2 bogeys. Johnny Forsythe continued his progression from last season scoring 26 points to secure second place.
