Golf: Murray holds his nerve to secure President’s Day title

John Murray worked his magic on Sunday to narrowly beat the rest of the competitors and take first place on Mr Desy Carton’s President’s Day at Redcastle Golf Club.

John scored an excellent 39 points on a break of tie narrowly beating Vincent Glenn into second place also with 39 points.

Seamus McGeehan scored 38 points to claim third place also on a break of tie with past Captain Willie McClelland claiming fourth place also with 38 points.

Willie Havlin won the gross prize with 29 gross points. Paddy Canning won the front nine prize with 21 points with Barry Gibson taking the back nine also with 21 points on a break of tie.

Visitors’ prize went to Joe McCafferty from Greencastle; Danny McCartney won the past Presidents prize with 34 points. Gill Eakin won the Ladies competition with 20 points closely followed by Gina Porter.
