Golf: Two Day Open Event coming to Prehen

Meanwhile the Popular Weekly Thursday Open at City of Derry once again attracted a huge entry, the superb presentation of the course in absolutely immaculate condition being the big draw.

Best of the field on the day was John Chambers (10) who had 41 points with a great 3, 3 start.

Second overall and best gross went to James Lindsay (1) with a remarkably compiled 40 points that included no less than six birdies, one eagle and a quadruple bogey. His 31 gross on the back nine started with four consecutive birdies.

Third place, losing out on a tie break went to Lester Moore (1) who also had 40 points despite him blanking the 17th. Fourth nett was taken by Aaron King (6) who was best of a trio on 39 points after the countback.

Paul McGuigan (2) from Foyle was the best visitor with 38 points.
