GREAT SCOTT AS McCLELLAND TAKES STABLEFORD WIN AT THE ‘ROCK
Scott McLelland birdied the first and the last on the Mussenden Course at Castlerock GC to win the Club Stableford recently.
After the opening birdie the twelve handicapper didn’t score heavily, a couple of one pointers and a blank at the long ‘Railway’ hole restricted him to 17 points for the nine, but he did put a bit of power into the return nine.
It was played in one over par 38 for a great haul of 23 points.
As well as the opening and closing birdies Scott played the long eleventh in just four shots so that back nine score, in the resulting tie break, saw him into first place over the in form Jack Allen.
