Through the Maple McVeigh who had been joined by Hamilton and McFall jnr. were vying for the lead three and four shots ahead of McWilliams and Bellew respectively. Three bogeys from McVeigh cost him dearly as he fell two shots behind Hamilton (birdie, par, double bogey) and McFall jnr. (par, par, bogey) with two to play.

Hamilton and McFall jnr. parred the peniltimate hole to remain level and so it came down to the final hole to decide the winner. The Overall Winner’s prize was won up the eighteenth by Hamilton which he parred with McFall jnr. in the Runner-up position after a double bogey . A shot behind came Bellew who finished par, bogey to draw level with McVeigh (bogey, par) and with a better back nine Bellew won Division 1 with McVeigh in second position.

There was a close finish to Division 2 with only one shot separating six golfers.

At the turn Paul McNeilly (15) and John McCarley (14) were one shot ahead of Alistair Andrews (12) who had Adrian Atkinson (12) and Trevor Dawson (15) close on his heels a shot behind. Robert Young (12) was a further two shots behind. Dawson upped his game and with the help of three pars was leading by two shots from Andrews and Atkinson through the Maple. Joint leaders at halfway McCarley and McNeilly ran into bogey trouble and were another shot behind.

Approaching the Lowlands Atkinson with the help of two pars had moved one shot clear of an improved McCarley who was one shot ahead of Andrews, Dawson, McNeilly and Young. Atkinson (double bogey, bogey), Dawson (bogey, bogey), McCarley (bogey, bogey), Andrews (bogey, par) and Young (par, bogey) all finished together but they were unable to stop McNeilly with a birdie, double bogey finish from taking first place. Second place went to Young with a better last nine.

Setting out on the back nine in Division 3 Geoffrey Marshall (16) held a narrow one shot lead over John Carruthers (18) and Michael Burton (19) with Gerard Lynn (17) a further shot behind.

There was little to separate the four players through 13 with Lynn leading by one shot from Carruthers, Burton and Marshall. Carruthers with a birdie and two pars forged into a two shot advantage over Burton (bogey, par, par). Two shots further back came Lynn and Marshall. In a close finish Burton with two bogeys joined Carruthers (two double bogeys) and with a better back nine Carruthers held on to win. Lynn (bogey, bogey) and Marshall (double bogey, par) also finished together two shots behind the winner and with a better back nine Lynn took second place with third place going to Marshall. Burton won the Seniors.
