Harry shoots best score in the MUSA

THE opening round of the Mid-Ulster Senior Alliance was played at Downpatrick Golf Club last Tuesday.

Brian Mulholland was in charge of the Banbridge team and he was hoping for a positive start to the campaign.

He was a bit perplexed when one of the team failed to show up. He had got his dates mixed up. That wasn’t the start Brian had hoped for.

The scores from his team didn’t break any records.

Harry Shannon was best with a very acceptable 35 points.

Brian Mulholland was next best with 33 points.

Then came Seamus McGrath with 30 points and John Poots with 29 points.

The target score is around 150 points (4 x 35) so Banbridge fell rather short with their team total of 127 points.

The players whose scores didn’t count were Tom Fee, Bertie Shaw and Andy Murphy.

The second round is at Portadown tomorrow, May 23. Things can only get better.
