Helen’s the toast of the Magners Ladies International

BUSHFOOT Golf Club has once again had a very successful Ladies international golf tournament - with a local winner, Helen McClaughlin, from Portstewart!

In its 41st year this competition continues to go from strength to strength.

Bushfoot captain, Paul Pentland, and everyone at the club wish to thank Ross Hegarty from Magners for his continued support and sponsorship of this prestigious competition.

The first ladies stepped onto the tee at 8am on Monday morning and were followed by 300 more over the next two days hoping to qualify to play in last Thursday’s final.

Competitors travelled from near and far to experience the beautiful scenery, friendly atmosphere and hospitality at Bushfoot as well as the excellent fairways and greens.

The international field included players from New Zealand, Canada, Britain, Republic of Ireland and 12 different local clubs from around the Province. Thanks and congratulations go to all those competitors.

The winner of the tournament and the Causeway Coast Cup was Helen McLaughlin from Portstewart Golf Club with a fantastic 41 points The captain concluded the presentation by congratulating and thanking all those who played as well our visiting ladies who travelled to Portballintrae to play.

He also thanked all the Bushfoot members and staff who worked hard behind the scenes to ensure the smooth running of the tournament.
