In category three, the victor was Andrew Adams (14) with a total of 40 points which included a non-event on the final hole.

Andrew was two over leaving the ninth green, giving him 23 points, only to fall away on the homeward stretch. The category four prize went to Christopher Adams (22) and here again there was a non-score on the card, at the par five ninth.

The second nine failed to reach the same heights yet he still scored seven pars and bogeys at 11 and 12 for an overall round of one under par gross.

The scoring generally reflected the good conditions as there were seven scores of 40 plus leaving eight golfers out of the prizes despite 39-point returns and a number of golfers will require handicap adjustments.

THOMPSON CUP

With the Thompson Cup also being won by Henry Eagleson, the runner-up prize went to Ivan Hamilton (17) with a score of 40 points, of which 22 came from the second nine holes.

Having scored 18 points from the first nine - which included a non-score at the sixth hole - Ivan then birdied the 10th and followed that with five bogeys before scoring pars at 16 and 17 and then finishing with a dropped shot at the last.
