High score at Bushfoot for Matt

Matt Colgan scored 43 points from his mark of seventeen at Bushfoot on Saturday to top the chart in Division Two of the John Freeman Winter League.

While a few shots were dropped here and there he hit birdies at three and nine, a two and a three, to have 21 points under his belt at the turn. No further birds were logged and fewer shots dropped coming back so Matt could add 22 points for his total of 43. This was three in front of Div Two runner up Peter Carson. Peter had two steady nines of 20 points each for his 40 points overall.

In Division One it was Des Walker again at the top with 38 points from his handicap of thirteen. A three at eight gave Des a welcome boost, after a couple of double bogies, to get eighteen points carded. A nice two at eleven did the same coming back as Des gained 20 points for his card of 38. Robert McLaughlin matched this 38 but lost out on countback. Six and seven were birdied but a nasty blank at twelve did the damage on the back nine to keep Robert in second spot.
