His final President’s Day is on Saturday September 6.

The highlight of that day will be the final of the President’s Prize, the fourball championship in the club.

It’s down to the final eight pairings, nine in fact, as one game in round three has yet to be played.

Dean Nicoletti and Gary Williamson beat Barry Casey and Carson Clegg 3 and 2.

Roy Simpson and Neil Comiskey beat Roy Rankin and Ivan Rushe 3 and 2.

David and Jamie Thompson beat Hugo Downey and Luke Crory 5 and 4.

Paul and Mark McCullough beat Tom Mulholland and Terry Malcolmson 1 up.

Gavin Greer and John Gallagher beat Rory Madeley and Mark Carson 1 up.

Garreth Moody and Aaron Buchanan beat Dominic and Andrew Quinn 1 up.

Shane Rooney and Tom Gillespie (the winners in 2013) beat Kevin McKay and Brian Grimes 5 and 4.

Seamus McGrath and Verdun Bond have still to play Conor Mulholland and Matthew Mallon.

Thursday August 14: The juvenile members dominated this, the 18th playing of the Thursday Open this season. They took the three top prizes.

1st- Christopher Burns (17) 44 points, 2nd- Josh Lockhart (5) 40 points, 3rd- Nathan Barnes (15) 39 points, Best Gross: William Malcolmson (5) 73.
